Not to brag or anything but, i just got electofuggincuted by adjusting monitor!!!

I just recently got bit by my G07.

The flash of lightning went right through me. It tore off my left arm completely and burned my right arm to bare bone.

Both of my legs were severely damaged as well but the doctors think I'll be able to keep them.

Demogo, did Jehuie hack your account recently? :D

I have gotten bit by two different monitors from not discharging the anode hole more than once, though that is just a somewhat alarming jolt.

You can get a real jolt from pulling a plug wire off a running 1978 V8 Mustang, trying to find a miss... hurts to the bone!!!

For me,I have been shocked a few times over the years
but nothing bad, mostly because of not discharging the crt first
before removing the anode cup.
Heres a video clip, i got off spike in a 1000 ways to die.

I thought was interesting, just a reminder that when circuits are hooked up
wrong!! then we need to worry about getting electrocuted!!

The other day I was making an adjustment to my Sanyo EZ20 and I got zapped. When it let me go I notice my butt was on fire! I tried putting it out with my hat then ran around my house until I notice a bucket of water to sit in. I've been standing ever since.

monitor zapped

I have been zapped a few times.
Two of those as i was adjusting the screen pot on the flybacks. My hand was not even touching the pot yet but the flyback was trying to find ground and arced across to my hand and to the chassis frame which was grounded. Look like Emperor Palpatine(Darth Sidious) giving Luke the business. Took that t.v. and threw it 20 feet away and two stories down. Next was the Christmas tree but it was time for that to go too! Hey, the window was open!
Electrohome chassis's you always discharge the anode and then the big cap by touching your discharge tool to the fuse on top of the chassis and you will see the arc then. Dont wait till you take it out as you may make connection between the cap and chassis and it will discharge then also. Also the cap will charge back up a little afterwards so discharge again later.
Wells gardner 19k7203 chassis and i am sure other models that have a larger cap on the neck board needs to be discharge also before handling as you will be tap dancing too!
