Not sure what to say about this Pac conversion.

I think he's playing off the "Homicide" word. I think its an interesting concept. As for hacking apart a pacman cab...boo hoo. There's so many of them to spare in the world, I don't think it'll make a dent in the pac population. Most likely the cab was stripped and beat anyways.
I was expecting a generic 48-in-1 in there, but kind of thought it was cool that the unit is dedicated for the Homer-pac style game.

Where'd he get that shit anyways? Is that just a hacked version of pacman on MAME?

I like the idea, sans the following:

*Some terrible and lazy design choices on the cabinet & control panel (though I like the marquee). There needs to be more Simpsons cartoony stuff going on. The best thing would be a spoof of the original Pac-Man art with a Simpsons theme, since that's what the game is.

*Terrible name. How about "Homer-Man: Revenge of D'OH!"?

that's been an eBay staple for over 2 years. i like it. they should not have painted the coin door, and the control panel screams "i'm lazy", but as far as a conversion goes, i like this one. if it was down in florida, i'd pay 300 bucks for it, to line up with my pacs.

"They should not have painted the coin door." +1, better to leave it black, especially if the CPO was black.

And the control panel screams "i'm lazy". +1, some cheap, generic purple capcom CPO would have been better.

But as far as a conversion goes, i like this one. +1. I wouldn't buy it, but realistically I think someone out there would buy it.

It has some kind of numbers in the voids in the maze, also looks like different colored dots. Also how did the homer character get to where he is above the "ghosts" without eating all the dots to get there. Looks like the character has the choice to just go over dots and make them a different color, or to eat them. Looks like it is heavily reprogrammed.

I noticed one of these in pictures someone posted of the last SuperAuction in Dallas. It could be the same one since it is in Tulsa. Or someone in this area likes to make a lot of these...

I found a little bit of information on it here at the bottom of this page: http://www.widel.com/projects.htm

I'll keep looking...

Okay, lost track of time... can't keep looking. But I haven't found the code for the game anywhere... best I can figure is the guy finished his project, and started making machines with his new code.

That's about all I could come up with too Scucci...although I did see some torrent links using google for MisfitMAME using the rom name homercid.zip. I don't have any torrent software, so I didn't try to download from any of the links.

I'm at work right now, so I can't really check it out on MAME here, but I'll give it a look when I get home. Seems like a neat little hack.
