This sale is for the very rare "Captain's Chair" Star Trek S.O.S. (Strategic Operations Simulator) Arcade machine. It was originally produced in 1981 by Sega and has the Sega Original Game Seal numbered 115236. The art is in excellent condition and the plastics are decent for 30 years in existence. All the pieces necessary to complete the machine are present. I had great ambitions of a full restoration for this great piece of Star Trek history but I'm now moving out of state and have no place for my arcade machines. A sad day for any Trekkie! Make this the crown jewel of your Star Trek collection or Arcade room and make a fellow Trekkie very proud!

I have a few other machines available for sale which include:
1. Killer Instinct, converted to a 1250-in-1 multi-game machine. The multi-game computer is a stand alone Jamma board adapted machine with a Chinese Windows XP based OS which I can't debug. The original Killer Instinct PCB is included. $650
2. Terminator 2: Judgement Day, 2 player shooter arcade machine. $350
3. Ghosts N' Goblins, one-of-a-kind Cocktail Table arcade machine (in rare Japanese built original Taito cabinet) $350 (e-mail for pictures)

Seller makes no mention if the game even works or not, just that all parts are there on the Star Trek SOS.

Just got off the phone with the owner says the moniter is not working but every else is working he is moving and wonts to sell the games make him a offer see what happens ?

Looks like it's missing some cabinet parts.

I guess it depends on how bad you want one of these. I haven't seen one for sale around So Cal in several years. I have the upright with the multi-sega, but the cockpit version of this game is the one to own if you have the space.

This game looks restorable...

The plastic sides can be restored to white using retrobrite (see Zitt's Star Trek Restore thread - great reading!)

P1001 here on KLOV is great at doing repairs on the HV and Deflection boards

As long as the tube is not shot, the monitor is repairable. If the tube is shot, you can do a tube swap with a 6100 monitor - you need to use the g08 chassis.

The captains chair Star Trek SOS is great if you have the room. It does come apart in 2 pieces for trasportation.

Has anyone tried to negotiate a price with the seller?

just spoke with the seller. it was sold within 1 hour of him listing it. He was asking $750, but sold it for $650 because he said it was going to a good home (not mine) A pretty good deal for someone I think.

There has been one on eBay for the past year for $1495.oo... but not in our area. Someone definitely got a good buy.
