I am doing something that I havn't done in a life-time. Sitting in the front room playing my new (to me) Dreamcast system. I just got hooked up by wildfire and getting a kick out of it.

I loved my dreamcast. I got it the day it came out and it came with a tshirt!

Such a letdown though. The games just didn't happen. There were a bunch of good ones but not enough.

We still enjoy the DC. The Rush 2049 port is very well done. We also play a Loony Tunes racing game that is a lot of fun, especially with 3 players going at it.
All the games look pretty good on our 27" lcd too.

This! I remember getting it for my birthday with NFL 2K, it was a big step up from playstation.
It was also suppost to be real competitive. Just wish they would have gotten the games, I remember being real pissed and disappointed when I found out that the DC wasn't going to get many many titles we all wanted. Just felt like after awhile it was nothing but a false advertisement.

I loved my dream cast and I think it had better graphics than the ps2, I bet if it would have had a DVD player it could have competed with the ps2. I remember seeing the ps2 for the first time and my mind was blown away because it had a DVD player. Back to the dreamcast,My first games were tony hawk 2 and jet grind radio.

The Dreamcast was too good to live. The thing was designed in every way, except the controller, to be a gamer's machine. The library is overwhelmingly strong and it would be easier and shorter to just list titles that aren't good. :p

Even cooler, some games still have online functionality, but you have to do some hoodoo to connect to a server someone put up...and hope people are playing that game.

Speaking of Rush...the 2049 port on that thing is really great. There are track differences, but not in a bad way. I played that thing to death.

Shenmue totally blew my mind. I went into that game knowing only that you got to drive a forklift. It still has the most compelling sandbox (I guess that's what you'd call it) gameplay I've seen.

Rush 2049, my friends and I played it to death. We went all the way through it several times. We used to do the four player flying part, where you got points for going off jumps and ramps. Spinning and flipping in the air to get points and multipliers. As long as you landed it, you got to keep the points. The four player death match was fun too. Everybody raced to get the guided missiles. Though you have got to love a sound weapon that blows up cars. :)

I still have two Dreamcasts and a lot of games. It was like Xbox lite, before there was an Xbox. To bad you couldn't system link games like Rush, Toy Commander, or Outtrigger.

Correction: The Xbox was Dreamcast 2.;)

And you can system link Ferarri F355 Challenge.:)

Good luck trying to get the link cable though....

I owned 6 DC's at one time, everytime I wanted to buy someones games or peripherals they would say "how about the whole lot, console included" I still have 5 of them now....:D

LOVED my DC!

I loved that you could boot it to an EMU disk and run NES, SNES and other emulation stuff.

It was rad.

That was a big mistake.
The countless times i heard, "i'm just going to wait and get a PS2. That way i'll have a dvd player too."

Still love my dreamcast. It's probably my wifes favorite system ever. The Dreamcast collection for 360 sux. They got Crazy Taxi all screwed up.
