I am trying to trigger a coin-up on my 450 in 1 Redbox. I have a 1-player coin-up button wired for credits, and it works fine with other Jamma boards, but not with the redbox. Has anybody had a similar problem? I can't get beyond the game menu screen without adding credits.

After disassembling the gamebox, I discovered a number of half-assed solder connections on the motherboard and on the modified jamma card. I did some resoldering, but am still not able to coin-up.

UPDATE:
I installed a new Jamma harness in the Gamebox cab. Again, no coin-up. I have a button wired to coin-up. Then I tried tapping into a different ground wire (the one that goes to my control panel) and I was able to coin-up and play, finally.

same problem

Hello!

I know this is an old post, but would love your help if you're still checking this thread! I am having the same problem where it's not recognizing the coins I insert. Therefore, I'm stuck on the game selection screen and can't choose a game. As soon as I switch to a different jamma board, it recognizes the coins.

You mentioned changing the ground wire - do you have photos of this that I can reference, so I can try it with mine? I know the basics of the wiring in my machine, but still learning. Thanks so much!

Just read your thread... I'm still using my 450-in-1 with no problems. I am no expert, but how I fixed my coin-up problem was by finding the Player-1 control panel ground wire, disconnecting it, and swapping it with anoher unused ground wire. There are 8 ground wires on JAMMA connector, plus a Video ground. I just tried a different one until my coin-up worked.
