I believe this to be a new old stock replacement monitor for something. Anybody know what it's for? Or is it just generic?

Very common monitor in midway games like Mortal Kombat II and NBA jam... doesn't appear to nos to me however.

That sounds like a much more likely situation as this type of monitor was prone to failure. Still worth testing and or fixing in my opinion. They have a really nice picture when dialed in.

Agree totaly, beautiful picture when they work. Tough to fix when they fail. That's definatly not nos.

This right here. Was super happy that the Polo in my MK2 cab just needed a cap kit. Some MINOR vertical linearity issues (why the hell they put that one pot in an impossible to reach location on the chassis and not on the remote board like all other pots is still a mystery to me), but not noticeable unless a grid pattern is on screen.

What I REALLY like about it, however, is no blooming. My K7000 blooms like crazy when running, but the Polo does not bloom at all.

The vertical linearity adjustment is never on the remote board on any monitor because once it's adjusted you're not supposed to touch it again or at least not as often as size/position.

That's true. I keep forgetting that the design of these things had relatively short lifetimes in mind, so adjustments for vertical linearity wouldn't be needed during it's planned course of operation. It's only after 20-30 years that general wear and tear on everything will result in a need for further adjustment.

I'm actually thinking of getting another Hantarex Polo chassis for my SF2:CE cabinet. The K7000 I have in there now has way too much bloom and also has some other visual issues that look pretty bad in comparison to my new MK2 cabinet. That has a Polo monitor and it is fantastic looking. No bloom at all, and the remote board has all the size adjustments that I would need since I frequently swap out my PCB with a Multi CPS2 or CPS3 setup, and the screen sizes are all just slightly off.

Here's an NOS monitor I have sitting in a box on a shelf for reference.
