NOS Dragon's Lair Disc disk

$400 maybe? I'd search for comparable sales of used discs. Not sure you'll find a NOS sale. They come up on eBay. Important part of the game IMO maybe most important.

I was wondering if I should try and play it. need to find a player that works

noun

  1. the place of origin or earliest known history of something.
"a laser disc of Bluth provenance"

I'm not sure if playing it will impact the value.

It's a jump ball condition wise. Early laser discs were the most prone to laser rot. I even have had DVDs (Bond MGM disks) crap out from that.

If I was offering $500 for a disc, I'd want to know it works.

I guess you could offer to check it if they want. Sadly, my last LD player (A nice Pioneer which played CDs, LDs and DVDs) fried itself and went to the electronic recycling bin.

Yes, people still want to run with a real laserdisc.
But even an NOS can have laser rot. You should play it to verify that it's clean all the way through.

Value is hard to say. I haven't seen one for sale for a while.
It's a wide range. They used to go for as low as $200, but they are hard to find now, so maybe as high as $600.

i sold one for $550 last year. I was really surprised it went that high, had several pictures and a recording showing the disc playing from start to finish
that is absolutely necessary for someone to shell out that kind of $$$. as others have mentioned, a disc can look clean but still have audio or video issues
