If anyone wants to borrow any of my NOS art for use in creating screenprinted reproductions, let me know. (This is about 75% of what I have, the rest isn't inventoried at the moment)

I have no interest in selling any pieces.
I have no interest in helping make non-screenprinted stuff.
Yes, it's all NOS.

Wow, generous and cool. Would love to see some pics should you feel like posting.

Hope someone takes you up on this. I know that the DL repro out there isn't very accurate and I am sure there are many others, too!

Thanks!

I don't know if it can be done, or if it's even financially feasible, but I know that the current Dragon's Lair and Space Ace (conversion) CPOs are a point of contention for most collectors. The current repros were done pretty early in the repro game and the standards just weren't the same for people back then. I don't even know what the process was for those CPOs but I'm fairly certain they were not screen printed.

Also, the community recently figured out that the early Nintendo sideart (like Donkey Kong) was not screen printed but was "process printed" (whatever that means). Check your NOS art and you'll see that its smooth, not with raised lines like you'd have from the silk-screening process. With that revelation in mind, it probably makes some sense to make sure the original process of printing is accounted for replicated to get the most accurate reproductions possible. For a long time we were under the assumption that screened art was the only correct process for the early art but now we're discovering that's not always the case.

Lots of cool stuff there! But borrowing your artworks would be quite risky because they can be damaged/lost during transportation from one location to another, and it would be costy too.

Do you have a place near you where you could take those artworks and have them scanned? I guess it would be the best way for having everything scanned and therefore, preserved.

Maybe we could raise funds towards this little project and so everybody here who contributed would have access to all these scanned files. My 2 cents here.

For something like Mr Do's Castle (side art, clown version), as it has fluorescent inks, it can only be reproduced through screen printing or a specialist printer. When a scan gets "out there" you'll inevitably end up with someone who has never seen the original artwork selling repros that do not look like the original.

People then unwittingly buy these, and THEN end up in arguments with people on KLOV about whether the original art has fluorescent ink or not.

BTW I would love to see the CPO you have for Mr Do's castle, there were two variants, the green(?/ non-castle) one is MIA.

(Also I'm working on a fluorescent Hyper Sports, and I have Yie Ar Kung Fu original in progress too)

I would like to see this done and would be in for one if someone did it.
My CP is original but missing a rather large chunk.
