NOS Anteater Conversion Kit

Gotcha. Not to ask another dumb question, but what exactly am I looking for them to do? In order to make high quality reproductions from the file they create after scanning, what exactly does that file need to be?

Based on your video, you will need to remove the premask (protective coating) from all the art and make sure it is cleaned of any adhesive residue before any scanning happens. As for the actual scanning, I think a good clean 600 dpi scan should be enough for a talented repro artist to work with. Obviously, it helps to have the original on hand when making test prints to verify colors, but the most important thing is to get the scans to preserve the find. Awesome of you to do this, also.

Thanks. Being able to do this makes me very happy. I've been "taking" from the community for a decade as far as tech info, finding deals on machines and parts, and going to a few events that collectors are good enough to organize. I was hoping there was something that I could do one day to do my part and the day finally came. Maybe sounds sappy, but so be it.

The masking thankfully seems to be relatively easy to remove on the pieces that have art; the marquee and the sideart. The bezel and the CPO, not so much, but they appear to just be clear and smoked pieces of acrylic/plexi. I'm looking in to just buying a good 1200 dpi hand-scanner; might even just buy one via my company to have around in case I need it again. I have a couple of guys that I work with that do art restoration semi-pro and they offered to help out as well.

For the ROMS, I shot joemageira an email to see if the MAME team was interested. Going to dump the ROM's this weekend regardless. (I get to use the Needham's setup I bought from Smalltownguy!)

@Parkway - Just want to say... you are an awesome person. Thanks for this and a huge thanks for making that side art available to the community.

I've been working on my own custom Anteater cabinet. See thread - https://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=417369

I have commissioned out work for custom Bezel and Control Panel artwork and the artist also re-created the side art... but the ORIGINAL you will have beats any re-creation, so I'm greatly looking forward to your work for my cabinet.

While it's custom work... the Bezel and CP art that I have commissioned will also be publicly available to the community for free once it is done, if anybody wants to use it.

Thanks very much. Moving along slowly but surely.
