Hi,

I have a dedicated Mortal Kombat 1 Cabinet that I'm restoring. The
Wells Gardner K7000 monitor inside needs a Cap Kit, and I feel unable
to do that operation well enough. Bob Roberts has sent me the kit
already. The cabinet is in the CA North Bay area. Is anyone in this
general area able to help me out, or refer me to someone else who can?
Please PM me.

Thanks,

Yeah, that's pretty far. Honestly cap kits are very easy to do. I had never done one before I did my first. I actually rebuilt the whole monitor on my first try. Not bragging, but just trying to say it's pretty easy. :)

Just get a solder sucker, some solder wick, solder and a flux pen. Flux the solder before you heat it hit it with the solder sucker if that fails try re-flowing new-solder and try again. Just don't pull hard and don't leave your iron on the board for longer then you have to and you should be fine. Just note the orientation of the caps short lead is negative on the board it will be marked either + flat spot on the circle for negative or both.

Oh ya reading up on how to discharge the tube helps too.
