norcal craigslist: puck man (looks dedicated)

Lawdy lawdy, it would be sweet to have one of those.

A red DK is one thing, but an original Puck Man before US Fuck paranoia got to it... that's special.

Probably the most reasonable "$1000 obo" that I've ever seen for an arcade machine on CL (even if the cabinet is rough).

That's a HONLY bootleg (or Taiwan license). It is probably the closest to the Namco as far as bootlegs are concerned.

Funny...I got an email out of the blue a few days ago from the seller:

"Not sure if you remember me but I'm almost positive you are the person I sold Omega Racer to. If not let me know, but the reason I am contacting you is because I have another Arcade I am needing to sell. It is a Puck Man like Pac Man. I did some research and I guess this came out before Pac Man. It is fully functional always stored indoors. Has as key. Able to play for free or accept coins. It is located in Petaluma and I am working on getting it down here to San Mateo but in the mean time they did send me a pic they will send more. Hopefully you or maybe someone you know may be interested. They are asking $500 for it. Any other questions please let me know. Hope all is well.

Thanks,

Stephan" stephan gleeson

I have no idea who this guy is.

Is he trying to "middleman" the sale? The message starts out like he owns the machine, but as it continues.....it sounds like he doesn't.

Woah, what's your source for this info?

It says HONLY on the marquee, the CP and the bezel aren't one piece like the Namco originals, the coin door is wrong for a Namco, but is consistant with Honly machines. I have a "New Rally-X" manual by Honly and someone on this board had a (I think tron_guy?) Honly Tank Battalion in that same cabinet.

Ahh yes, I can barely make out the logo now. Neat. What year is the HONLY stuff from? I've heard much later (83?) and also contemporary (80).

I tried to find some pics of a dedicated upright, but really can't find anything -- they definitely look like Namco cabs, coin door and all?
