Hello Every one.

Hope I can post and give everyone a quick cliff-notes version of myself. I purchased my 1st arcade cabinet this past weekend. It was stuck in my brother in-laws basement for quite some time. I flipped out when I saw it because it was my favorite game to play at BOB's superstore here in Northern Indiana growing up. So $150 bucks later I have now my 1st game and now I looking at picking up another game this thursday from a collector and restorer in my neck of the woods. So I'm about as green as you can get in this hobby but plan to learn and participate as much as I can here on KLOV. Thanks for listening to me rant about my game, I know its not the most popular but its def. one of favorites. Im only 30 so growing up alot of the titles I remember playing are in the JAMMA board era.

Hope to continue my new obsession
Jason W.

Congrats on your game purchase, and welcome to KLOV. On behalf of the hobby, let me apologize in advance for taking all your free time, money, sanity, and square footage in your basement. ;)

I would recommend buying games that you enjoy and that are in good working order first. Don't get overwhelmed with projects and ideas or you'll lose track of why you are in this hobby. You got into this hobby to play games you liked as a kid, not to be an arcade tech! That side of the hobby will come with time.

welcome and at least you're not like me who paid too much for a piece of junk(now it mostly works tho)

Welcome to the addiction! And now you need to start looking for a Ninja Gaiden bezel for that game of yours.

And to help you start searching for some other good 2-button JAMMA games that you can play in that cab let me suggest Black Tiger, Rastan, U.N. Squadron, G.I. Joe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Simpsons, Captain Commando, Strider, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, and a Taito Classics multi pcb just to name a few. :D

Is what your calling the bezel what the manual calls the monitor card? which would be the correct graffics around the screen?

Howdy! Cool game, I played the pants off that on NES. Neat avatar too, I had a million of those MUSCLE figures ..

Yah this beat-um up platform (like double dragon) was different than the NES version (nes was side scroll). Atari's hand held LYNX made Ninja Gaiden just like the arcade but thats all i remember anyone ever getting close to this platform in arcade form.

I have all 236 of the MUSCLE figures known in japan as Kinnikuman. 80's 4 life. LOL

It's a Joust conversion which is very common.

Welcome to the hobby. Collect slow and grow your skills according to what you are good at. Everyone needs to learn to maintain their vids if they want to collect these. Grow your list of working cabs faster than projects if you are not into restorations... many of us have WAY TOO MANY PROJECTS...

At least you have a JAMMA machine and can swap out boards easily.

Start making a list of games that you want to collect and watch prices on them. Know what is an original ded, conversion, generic cab etc... Guys here are very happy for a ID etc...

Machines take up more space. Collecting loads of boards takes up loads of cash... don't I know it... Some boards are tricky because of potential suicide batteries or leaky components like the Konami hybrid sound boards that plague Xmen and others...

Learn to search first and ask silly questions later...
I particularly like the "lets talk about..." threads

Jason, Sell the game.. go to a Hypnotist, and have them erase your memory about ever owning one.. Im trying to help you out before its to late;)

Haaaaa Haaa, Man its way to late for the memory erase. My biggest down side is not starting sooner. LOL

In a year, you will have games in every room in your house.. Burger Time looks great in the kitchen, and if you get a cocktail Burger Time it can double as a kitchen table..

Oh BTW welcome to the forums...:)

Sickness is growing out of control........ Got a Pole position 1 cabinet with Pole Position II PCB From a good guy named Jeff that's a pretty RAD collector near me. Great to have a pole position that is in propper working order and plays beautifully.

pole position now? I totally stink at that as I was always crashing the car. I've seen a few things on craigslist I wanted to go after but the fact that all my money must be used to buy a car has stopped me.(better to get my cab working 100% instaed of 90%)
