Hey guys I am new to the arcade scene (not in playing but in owning). I will be moving into my own place with in the next year and I would like to purchase a cabinet as a house warming gift for myself. I have looked around to see whats near and there are a lot of machines that catches my eye. I have also notice that a lot are in non working order. I wouldn't mind learing how to repair them. Is there a list of links any where that could help a noob out? Thanks in advance. Sorry if this is in the wrong section. I been eyeing a neo geo cabinet on craigslist that has samuria showdown 2 and world warrior for $599. its in fair condition, what does something like that usually go for?

Again thanks for the help guys/gals.

The seller who has that is a member on here he might be able to cut you a deal. That particular neo geo cab is called the "gold cab" due to its color, i have one and paid 200$ for it,in my opinion i would never spend over 300$ on a neo geo gold cab, and a good idea is to buy a neo geo multi cart that has 120 games in 1 or 150 games in 1 cart because neo geo is a cart based system

And for that price it should be fully working. This place is the best resource for repairing games. Use the search function (or Google) to find what you are looking for. If you can't find your answer that way just post your question and folks here are glad to help. And amazingly smart. With some exceptions.

Oh I will contact him then. So if I got the neo geo multi cart could i replace the games in it or is it just the 120 or 150? Do they both pretty much have the same games as in all 120 in 1 are the same?

You would haft to look at the game list of each cart, there are others, 108-1, 140-1 i think, i have a 120-1 and haven't played all the games yet, allot of fighting games, and allot of the metal slugs and allot of shooters. yes if you buy the multi cart it works just like a snes , just pop out the old game cart from the motherboard and pop in the multi cart, search google for neo geo multi cart, the neo system your looking at has two slots on the mother board so you could keep one of the games and replace the other with a multi cart
