No thread for Skyward Sword?

What shipping method did you pick? Nintendo's Sunday releases don't work for Release-Date Delivery.

2-day/prime. usually they would ship it the day before so I would've gotten it tomorrow. Guess they're not even gonna bother shipping til tomorrow.

Got mine!

got my special edition zelda @ target this morning :) the kid was bringing out the cases of games. they only got one case of the gold wiimote version. 6 games per case.

gonna be up late tonight playing this game. cannot wait!!

Will probably pick mine up tomorrow, though I won't be starting it for a week or two at least. I still need to finish up AC:R and MW3 before I give this a go.

I picked up my limited bundle, but I'm waiting to get the standard version on my next paycheck.

I've begun playing Shadow of the Colossus to hold me over for the next few days.

I haven't decided if I'm going to get a copy of the standard edition to play and keep the bundle sealed or what. I've got some time to think about it, I guess :p

My intention has been to buy two since I saw the bundle: one regular for play, one collectors for... collecting.

The game came out a few days before payday, so I could only get one on release, so I picked up the CE.

My wife said "why not just pick up a second CE to play, since it's only $20 more." If they have them when I go for my second, I will be...

Search for them on eBay... seems they are a hot item right now.

I'll be very interested to see how Skyward Sword sells. I just saw the review on G4's X-Play last night and the reviewers sounded like they were doing it as a chore. I know a lot of other places like Giant Bomb and IGN love Skyward Sword, but it makes me concerned for Nintendo that some of the mainstream gaming press like X-Play finds a Legend of Zelda game ho-hum.

And even the Giant Bomb and IGN guys agree there is too much other gaming goodness out there these days for an admittedly amazing Zelda game to get their attention.

So, if Nintendo are relying on fans to carry Skyward Sword's success at retail, I think I need to remind them of movies like Scott Pilgrim vs The World or Kick Ass. Fan interest won't necessarily equate to financial reward.

Really looking forward to hearing those sales numbers.

It will sell well on name alone. A horrible review wouldn't hurt the title. The main audience of 13 year old kids that are getting the game do not read or care about reviews for it. It could be 5 hours of gameplay of Link just sitting on the crapper and it would still sell. The main problem it has is also one of it's advantages...it is only on the Wii. If you only have a Wii, there are not exactly a slew of great, or even good, games being released for it so you are starving for even an average game. If Wii was my only system, I would have been all over it. That said, if you have any other systems, there are just too many other great games out there. The guys reviewing the game that you are talking about see it as a chore, because they have the other systems and other options they would rather be playing and reviewing and they know Zelda is exactly the same as it was 6 years ago on the Gamecube.

just open your SS bundle, it's not going to be collectable... there are too many printed units. The Wii has too large of an install base.

then again I had a sealed copy of Super PO SNES sell on ebay for $225... but after how many years?
