I donated my centipede to a gaming expo a while ago, and when I got it back, the sound was out. I played around with some connections in the cab to no avail. The ar2 and game board are fine (tested them in a friends game) and the sound pot appears to check out. Any suggestions on where to go from here? I would think it almost has to be something in the harness.

check at the amp first and see if sounds are getting that far, then go from there

Could be a bad speaker or connection to the speaker.

Did you test your PCB in your friend's cab? Could be on the board.

Doesn't Centipede use LM324's? They fail from time to time. Or is it a pokey? I forget.

if you have a spare POKEY try to replace it to see if it works since it's socketable and doesn't hurt to try. More than likely its the LM324 at J10. it's the only IC in the sound circuit besides the POKEY and it's not uncommon for it to fail.

I'd agree with that, on the two PCBs I last looked at, it was the LM324 that had failed.
