I wanted to save Marian again today so I fired up my Double Dragon machine. The video is fine but I have no sound. I tried another jamma board (Crime Fighters) and the sound worked fine. I checked the dip switches and verified -5vdc from the switcher. I can turn up the onboard sound pot and hear static. Do you guys have any recommendations?

Not sure what chip it is exactly, but from your description, it sounds like maybe the amp chip on the board is dead. Check around the board's sound pot and maybe trace back from it and you'd find the amp chip, assuming that's the problem. I'm not a board genius at all but hopefully that gives you some food for thought. Good luck!

I checked the sound amp and it checked ok.....untill I shorted out the -5vdc on the board. I think i'll just have to bite the bullet and buy a new pcb....

Ok, where does the sound originate from? Is it stored on a rom???? My amp is blown but that is not the whole problem....
