OK, when I push the service button on my Mario Bro. nothing happens. I have traced the wires back to the board and everything is fine. It looks like the wires go to 19 and 22 just like it said. What can I do?
Number 2 problem.
When the speaker is plugged in all I hear is a loud noise. Nothing game related....just an annoying noise. The wires run under the monitor so I havent tore into that yet. Any suggestions on this?
I also have a picture problem but I will go to the Monitor area about that.

Service adds a service credit... which is the noise you're hearing... it's not a test mode.

If it's a DK cab, it's a conversion. The widebody cab is the dedicated one, and is a little wider (hence widebody :D ) and will have the red lit coin return buttons typical of Atari and Williams cabs, rather than the Asahi Seiko coin mechs on a silver colored coin door.

I don't think Mario's service switch does anything beyond giving a credit. The Braze high score kit includes some test patterns and stuff though.

no, it does a few things. it allows you to go into the bookkeeping, runs through the sounds to test them, and you can switch it to freeplay through there too.

Cool, I'll have to check that out. Will the freeplay stay on all the time, or do you have to turn it on each time you start up the game?

Freeplay will only stay on if you have good batteries installed. So its pretty useless without the HSS kit.

Dosent matter what cab its in.
