No question this time. Pac FP /w Attract Mode

It worked fine until I decided to return the really nice monitor back to the Galaga project and drop a rebuilt one back in. I think it is just fussing because it wanted that nice monitor with no screen burn. :)

Tomorrow I will either cap a different 4900 chassis and swap it it to see if that fixes it or try to get the curl out of the other 4900 with Pac Burn and swap that one in. She is just going to have to accept that the good monitor belongs in the Galaga48 project.

For those that didn't read the other thread, which location is this ROM for?

Oh, sorry... I could've sworn I mentioned it in this thread... it's for 6E. I'll go add that into the post that has the rom download... sorry about that.

Good call... can't believe I forgot that part. lol

The location rom is for location 6E and needs to be put on a 2532.

Okay, chips are in. I literally just got them in the mail. I only ordered 10, and usually a couple of those will be DOA. So, I'll start clearing them (because they never get cleared before they ship... oh well.) and programming them and seeing how many I can get out of this 10.

I wasn't sure of what to sell them for... but I figured I'd just copy everyone else and do them for $10 each. They will all be tested in my machine before I ship them (too bad my ZIF sockets haven't shown up yet... que sera).

Send me a PM if you're interested.

Oh, great... get the chips in, now nobody wants 'em. lol

Anywho... Galaga's coming along... slowly, but it's coming along.

Okay, I'm good to go. Got the money back I spent on the chips...

Attached the code.

Still, please don't sell it... but, if you have a programmer, enjoy.

Glad people are enjoying it so far. Ironically shortly after I got the chips done, I got a TwoBits Super ABC kit so I can't use the chips anymore on my machine (for now... I'm not in love with the kit, so I'll probably be switching back to a regular Ms. Pac machine soon).

I didn't even know there were other threads about the chip until I was searching for this thread to post the code back up. Sorry, thanks for the compliments. :)

I'm still working (VERY slowly) on one for Galaga, but it's been put on the back burner for now until I can get caught up with some other stuff. (Getting my machines against the wall and out of the middle of the room/kitchen)

I have two of these chips for ms. pac and it works flawlessly! I didn't know you are working on Galaga! Get that project back on the front burner...I'm good for one! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

It's really tough for me because I don't actually know assembly. lol It's just finding out enough stuff to piece something together. But, yeah... I really would like to get something like this with Galaga.

I really need to get a book... hell, if there were courses on Z80 assembly at the local community college, I'd be taking them right now. Even books on the subject are hard to find locally and sell for quite a bit on Amazon (I guess since they haven't been printed in well over a decade, that probably has something to do with it).

Ever heard of scribd?

I had no idea this got bumped, sorry. I just checked back in here on a whim.

I don't have any 2532's right now to burn, but if anyone wants to burn a few and sell them, give them away, flush them, whatever... no biggie. I don't really care, TBH. I'm sure they've already been sold here and there, I'm fine with that these days (becoming a bigger and bigger fan of "open source" type stuff).

I've long since converted my machine over to a 4 in 1. So I don't really have any need for it anymore.

Do you happen to remember what changes you made to the ROM to enable the free play attract?

As I recall, it was just making it skip the coined up screen when it gets a credit... I -think- it was just editing a jump to some blank space at the end of the ROM file, then having it check for inputs in that new code. Then if it saw any input from 1P or 2P starts it would jump to the start of the game, if it didn't see any inputs then it was just jump back into the attract mode. ... as I recall.
