I'm trying to break the habit and I need you guys to help. I'm going to attempt to purchase exactly ZERO games for the rest of this year. Please shame me if I fall off the wagon.

Parts and bits to complete current projects don't count.

Thank you.

I will help on the condition that you pass your $50 finds on to me.

Its not too far from 2012, you can do it! Im trying to do the same and just focus on projects I already have.

the penalty is that you have to donate to KLOV for every dollar you spend on any more new machines.

I only bought a DK mini this entire year so I didn't do all that bad. But I bought a lot of PCB's but there not full sized games so they don't count.:D

Good luck. I have told myself that I was done buying games for the year twice now. :) I bought a game the day after the second time. oops.

i see ou lasting about a month without looking, another month or so looking and dreaming, anfd after 3 or 4 back to buying

Do what I did: No machines, sure. But that doesn't stop you from collecting JAMMA PCBs that you like.

Ooooh, that's a good one. As I said before, I don't mind donating to KLOV at all but I'm not interested in donating to the "museum". So that would be good incentive to stick to this. Plus I don't want any of those fruit next to my name.

said i was gonna be done also, working on paying off debts, so i sold a cruisin usa and 2 days later bought a harley arcade. Not working out so far.

Right after my Tron LE purchase I haven't really bought anything new this year and all I see on CL lately is overpriced junk that I really don't care for.

I'm in the same boat. I live right next to the mall and the arcade in there is selling ALL of their stuff. Needless to say knowing that there is so many games for purchase right next door to me is killing me.

Yeah I've some money sitting in my arcade purchase fund from some recent game sales so every time I see something I think about it. Must....not...buy...anything....

You can count on me to help you out..... please forward all good purchases to my inbox and I'll take them so you don't have to....... I'm here for you! :)

I've actually done this for people on multiple occasions but it never seems to work out. They never seem to get them fast enough or just say they don't have the money or a truck or whatever. And if you post good deals on the forum then people get cheesed off about that too. The only way I've seen to make it work is to call the seller myself and offer to get the game. But then I've got to do all the work...which is part of what I'm trying to avoid right now. I'd like to focus my energy on existing projects.

Good deals pop up constantly but it's nearly impossible to get other people to jump on them fast. It happened with a Star Wars a while back. Several people said they were looking for one and I tried and tried to get someone to pick one up for cheap. Nobody did. So I finally went and grabbed it for another friend who isn't on klov. Turned out to have an Amp in it too. But it also turned into a LOT of work for me....and he still hasn't picked the thing up!

Easy... pass that Star Wars w/ amp to me....

Yeah sure, come on over and grab it.

I actually moved the amp to my machine. That will be my fee for the work involved plus storage. :) But he's supposed to come pick it up sometime in the next week or so. I think.

But the point is that I don't know how to tell people about games they might be interested in a way that's fast enough for them to actually respond. By the time the communication gets there, the game is already spoken for usually.

It's not like I have some magical way to find extra good deals though. Other than the fact that I figured out how to read CL ads during the gap between the time they are posted and the time they actually show up in the listings. :)

Simple, you can part it out as I need a monitor for my SW cockpit and you can turn the rest into a chair and take it to CAX next year it whould be a hit just like your tempest mini was :)
