No isolation in generic cab

The magic spell that allows them to run is that it also isn't grounded. My understanding is If grounded without iso a path (short circuit) is provided from the hot wire back to ground through the fuse, a couple diodes, and some traces that will all get burned up. If ungrounded without an iso the electrons lurk in the chasis (do what they are supposed to) until you provide them a path to ground through your finger and toes.

I got a converted Dig Dug cocktail recently that was running a G07 without an iso — and I saw it working at the seller's place. The ground prong had been removed from the power plug though — perhaps intentionally by an operator for exactly this reason?
