I just purchased a Punch-Out machine a few days ago. Everything seemed to be working fine when I was testing it out. The Upper cut button is a little loose but no biggie.

When I picked it up the bottom monitor displayed green. After transporting it home. The bottom monitor has no green. My boxer is a dark grey/black alomst. I tried adjusting the control but any way you turn the green control it has zero effect.

Any suggestions? I also have beginner experience with working on monitors...

Thank you for any help!!!

btw I LOVE the PUNCH-OUT!!! lol

Try swapping the cables from the top and bottom monitor.

Also, try removing the filter board and reseating the edge connector.
Check the BAK board and the proms are seated correctly.

Thanks for the reply 2600

I followed your suggestions and found by switching the monitor inputs the bottom monitor works PERFECT. Looked really good.

I also found by removing the board to check for any loose connectors The board is in kinda pooor shape. I should have removed it when I bought it. But when I saw it working I didnt even think about it. Around the battery was ground down with some exposed copper. Must have had battery leakage and was repaired. The battery in it looked new.

So any suggestions as where to go with it now? I have called the place I bought it from and I am awaiting a call back with some suggestions...

Thanks again for the help!!!

that is the nice thing about punch-out as 2600 sugested. swapping cables so upper monitor shows on lower and vicer versa makes troubleshooting easier. It is highly likely that one of your lower monitor "color prom" chips has gone. Very common with punch-out. The top monitor has color proms so does the lower. The color prom chips are located on the PCB.

I can recomend Steph at hobby roms. He can send you a replacement chip fairly cheap. Atleast thats who I went with when I needed to replace a color prom on my Punch out

good luck
