Hey All,

I have the opportunity to pick up a very clean NGG. Before I go play this machine, I am wondering what everyones thoughts are on this machine. I very much enjoy games like Star Trek TNG, Love Cirqus Voltaire, Theatre of Magic, and World Cup Soccer 94. Would NGG fit into this collection? Or is the playstyle poor, and easy to lose interest in?

Thanks all!

Well thats one of the last Willams/Ballys Pins. I've never played it but it does look cool. With pins you might like it and everyone else might hate it!

+1 Based upon the machines in your collection...

I have one and it still gets a lot of play - so much so that I have to shop mine again. The hole in one shot off the slam ramp is still very gratifying.

It's fun. The slam ramp is pretty cool and unique. I think it would fit fine in your collection.

Love it. Really fun game, great humor, excellent music - and really fast and fun gameplay. Different than other games of the era, in the sense that it's not really mode driven. Shots and combos are your "drives", and putting out advances you to the next hole while giving you a "prize" from the spinner wheel. Prize can be modes, extra balls, etc... The Hole-in-One slam ramp shot is awesome and satisfying. Excellent Multiballs w satisfying jackpots. I have no interest in golf AT ALL, but I love this game!

You can play a great version of it on the Xbox360 Williams Hall of Fame game. That'll at least give you an idea of the gameplay and rules :) Plus it's one of the best, if not the best simulated pinball games ever.

PDXGEEK that guy has been trying to sell that machine for quite awhile now. Personally if it were me I'd offer less. If he can't sell it chances are you'll have just as tough of a time reselling it. Looks nice tho.

I havent been purchasing machines for re-sale, though I agree, it has been up for sale for quite sometime now. I'm not even sure what a fair price is for this machine as of yet. He also isnt very motivated to sell. Meaning I am pretty sure he wont sell unless he gets what he's asking. Regardless, I am heading out there tomorrow afternoon to play a few games.

What's he asking for it? NGG seems to go between $1800-2000 (plus/minus if anything is majorly screwy or minty)

He is asking 2200 for it, and it appears to be in really good shape from the pics, but I wont know for sure until I see it in person. My top price for this machine, in 8 or better quality, would probably be around 2k.

Heck ya go over there play some games, he may have other pins to play as well. Even if he is not motivated to sell at least you had an opportunity to play some pinball. Hell maybe make a new friend, go over often to play, this way you can save your money and go over and play pinball and drink a few with the dude after work sometimes! It always cool to meet folks that have machines at there home!

100% agree with you. Its always good to find people with common interests. Especially when it involves competitive games!

Went out and looked at the game yesterday, and couldnt walk away from it. Very fun machine, with a really good light show. Also got to meet a very cool pinball guy that is pretty talented with restoration. Looking forward to playing more of his machines in the future for sure!

is that the one at arcade adventures?? thats a nice one i got to see it right after it got shopped... yes jeff makes money on games but wouldnt you if you could? every time in out there we end up talking too long about random arcade stuff, love the place, love the guy, GET THE PIN lol.. i wish i could drop 2k on a pin man....

(how did you like the omega race cockpit??? :D )

Not familiar with Arcade Adventures. Is that west coast? This was a private collector.

Did you end up buying it?

I'd like to play a real one... I played it on the PS3 collection and I didn't care for it at all.

I haven't played the PS3 version yet, but I'd imagine a lot of the physical allure is lost. The way you really FEEL the *SLAM* of the slam ramp, the satisfaction of making the Hole-in-One shot, the feel of smacking the gophers, and even their mechanical sounds of popping up, shaking the metal ramp w/ their heads, popping down.... and the insane light shows (espeically in a dark room).

Does the Dual Shock have any feedback on the PS3 Williams collection? If not, that's a shame...some nicely choreographed rumble would definitely make video pinball feel a bit more like the real thing.

I agree, NGG plays much better in person then on the arcade simulation. Some machines do well in simulation, but NGG definitely isnt one of them. The light show is quite good, probably one of the best I have seen in a pin, and the overall character of the pin really needs you to be in front of it.

NGG has become the most popular machine in the room right now, and I think its because of the hole in 1 shot. Its so rewarding when you hit that shot.
