My No fear machine has been one problem after the next today, for some reason the flippers aren't working, the buttons that control them though are working as they still control the starting event. However the solenoids just won't go and I can't figure it out after checking all the connections in the backbox are solid. This started after my game would not start up and when it was doing that the flippers would go into the hold position the problem was I had put one of the ribbon cables back in incorrectly. After me restarting the game a few times while figuring that out though the flippers stopped going up. I know very little about problems like this, most of my pinball knowledge right now is related to basic playfield repairs, and help would be greatly appreciated

Do I need a multimeter to check them or how do you tell if their blown from looking at them? Sorry it's just that this is about the first time I've had to work with the pcb

You should really use a meter, to be sure if they are good or not. If you don't have one, you can try to visually check, but many times you can't tell for sure. You should be looking at the filament, to see if it is broken.

well the filament in the fuse in the F901 slot looks likes it blown but I don't have a multimeter but I can borrow one Monday. the other three on the board have thick filaments but this one has two smaller filaments that don't seem to connect

Just replace it anyway, give yourself piece of mine, if it dont fix the problem at least you have some new fuses. Try not to make this more difficult then it is, or you'll get frustrated.

If you can see that the filament is broken, then it's blown. Replace it.

Also, just to clear things up, what probably happened was that when you misaligned the connector, it send an incorrect voltage and blew the fuse, thus the flippers stopped working. Be glad there's a fuse there, otherwise you might have ended up with two burnt up coils which are much more costly and not as readily available as fuses.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong on what probably happened.
