Pulled a monitor out of a cab the other day. Just took a look at it today and there are no convergence rings??? Or is this a "bonded yoke" monitor? Maybe the rings fell off at some point in its life? But I'm not even sure if there is a place for them.

Forgive my ignorance on this, I'm horrible when it comes to monitors and monitor repairs. I believe it's an RCA tube with a K7000 chassis.

Thanks you! I was worried there. Thought the monitor was toast.

If it's any consolation I have a sharp monitor with a single broken purity ring I bought untested. Made me concerned it wouldn't produce a good image but that didn't seem to affect anything and the convergence it's pretty bang on for this monitor. The purity ring had glue on it from the factory over the broken ring and broken section of the ring so I wonder if someone broke it from the factory but saw it produced a good image still so they sent it out. Maybe they broke it on purpose to get the convergence right, my rule of thumb is if it's producing a stable image then don't touch the yoke or rings. But I believe that style of tube doesn't have visible purity rings like most tubes, Andrewb is right about that.
