Ninty Joysticks. How many styles were there (For Christ's Sake)?

I have seen long shaft 4-ways and short shaft 8 ways, but recently I have acquired several Ninty sticks that are unlike any I have ever seen. On of them, on one of the Popeye panels I picked up was a short shaft 4-way with a TINY ball-top, and I mean tiny, barely the diameter of a quarter. I have also seen a few with the removal black balls via a set screw. Now I picked one up that looks factory but has a huge white ball top. Anyone seen any of these variations before?

From my understanding, there are just the standard 4 or 8-way black ball topped joysticks. At least from all of the Nintendo games I've seen or owned. I've only seen variations in height as you've mentioned as well as some joysticks having the clear vinyl ring below the ball. I don't know of any other colors or sizes though. Also, from the Nintendo manuals that show parts and part #s, it seems that the standard joysticks that you're used to seeing are the original. Then, there's the funky looking PC-10 Countertop joysticks.

Nice page. 4 original shafts and 3 repros (none of them in a brass finish) That page explains where this little ball came from, a cocktail. That makes sense. I don't see my white Ball tops in there though. Is that the definitive list? Or just what he knows of so far?

The White one sounds like one from a Crazy Climber?

Well, it doesn't mention the little stick joysticks found on the Playchoice countertop...
