I have a Castlevania Vs. Arcade unit. I hear that I can buy other PCB or Jamma boards and place them in my system to be easily hooked up. Is this true.
I understand they have to be after like 85 or some year.
I was thinking about getting a Ninja Gaiden PCB board and switching it with my Castlevania PCB.
Is this pretty easy to do? Just pull and plug?
I am new at all this stuff and trying to get my feet wet.
Thanks!

The Nintendo Vs. have a different pinout then a Jamma

So, without wiring up a JAMMA harness inside, you pretty much can't.

Ok cool! I was about to buy some PCB boards.
Mine is an original Pac Man conversion... does that matter at all? I see other Vs systems that are different from mine. Some look like old Donkey Kong or Mario cabinets. Mine is for sure an old pac man.
So no other JAMMA boards for that system.

I do have a Black Tiger unit. I could do it for that one?

Nintendo did things their own way.

You can pick up other Vs. games for it and swap boards if you want, or even swap chips in to your current board.

The Vs. boards have two edge connectors. And the power supplies are typically different too. Some have been converted to switchers.

If you really want to, you can wire up a JAMMA harness in there (would be pretty easy) and throw an adapter for the Vs. board, and then run JAMMA boards and the Vs. boards.

mikesarcade.com has the adapters
