I have a Nintendo MDS-01 CPU PCB, with 2 Duck Hunt PPU/rom sets.
So I have Duck Hunt roms/PPU on both sides, I only had one RP2A03, the screen would flicker no matter what side I put the RP2A03 on, I took a couple CPUs from NES systems that had other problems, I tried them, now the board boots up, looks ok... (standard monitor so the picture is inverted) however the sound is screwed up on both sides, I can hear the first couple notes then it goes crazy and sounds like it is playing a bunch of notes right after each other.
I dumped the eproms and they check out ok, they are the same as in the mame sets.
This is my question, is the NES CPU RP2A03G fully compatible with the Nintendo VS?
I know the sound is generated on the RP2A03 so it would make sense if that is what is causing the problem, however I have read on other forums some people mention they had success running the NES CPU on the VS, anyone run into a similar problem?
