I just registered on this forum yesterday to show my interest in the 720° vinyl repro, but I have been bitten pretty heavily by the coinop bug.

I was wondering about the Nintendo Vs. Redtent. It looks like an awesome machine with some style, but I was wondering if they used the same machine in Japan? If not what type of cabinet were they using over there at the time?

From what I've gathered, I believe it looked the same in Japan as it did here. There are some members who own one that have Japanese writing on the 1-4P start buttons panel as well if that's any indication.

I'm one of them...

as far as I know, too, it's the same cabinet.

Just a little different wiring in the ISO transformer

awesome!

I figured it was probably the same design they used in Japan because it has that look to it.

What other Japanese nintendo cabs did they have back in the day? I know dedicated cabs aren't that prevalent now, but what about back when donkey kong / popeye first were released?
