Nintendo switcher

Thats what I was thinking but it gets pricey for the adapters and the switcher and would rather not wire my cab to JAMMA.

How does it work ?
yes it was very expensive. i told everyone it was the worlds most expensive donkey kong. i took all that stuff out and now its all original inside except for the dk2 upgrade. i have a dk3 and a dkjr sitting next to it now instead of all those games in one machine. the room looks better this way.

I'd certainly be up for a switcher solution for multi nintendo boards, or at least DK/DK Jr. I've searched around the web and have seen that people have done it, and even a few tutorials, but none I could follow. It would be nice to switch between my boards without having to physically take one out.

Agreed!

I would love to have a sweet "Ninty" row but space is at a premium in my games room.
So choices are

Swap out boards (pain in the ass)

Jamma wire a cab and play just the Dks on a 60-1 ( Lame)

Buy the Jamma switcher and the adapters for DK,DKJR and DK3 which would make it a very expensive machine.

Or keep all three game boards in the cabinet and switch the harness edge connector between them.(Using an adaptor on the DK3 board if the pin-outs are different).

I've got DK and DK Jr. mounted in my DK cab. If you use the Dokert/Flagg edge connector harness all you need to do to switch bewteen games is open up the back and move the connector over (I usually adjust the sound too since DK Jr. is louder on my machine).

It takes all of 5 minutes and it's not much more difficult than getting another cartridge for your NES.

A switcher that allowed you to do this without moving the edge connector would be cool though.

I think the point here is to do it without diving inside. I am sure people looking for this product would like guests to be able to switch games easily.

If it took me 5 minutes to change a game in my NES I would probably kill someone.

It's not definitely not as easy as flipping a switch but it beats the hell out of unhooking 8 independent connectors, removing the board, putting the other board in, and then hooking up 8 connectors again. I mean, if a 5 minute NES cartridge swap would result in you killing someone then an old fashioned PCB swap would probably have you massacring your entire family and disolving the carcasses in the bathtub with acid (which, by the way, takes much longer than doing an edge connector swap.)

I'll be the first in line to buy a switcher if they ever happen though!

Ha! That has to be the reply of the day at least, if not the year he he he

I'd be okay with the dokert connector solution if I had one of those. Doesn't sound too bad.
