Hello all,
I just got a Nintendo Super System and the monitor isn't showing a pic. The sound and everything else is fine, and the previous owner told me it just stopped working one day when they turned it on. Can anyone help?

Can you take pictures of the monitor chassis (the circuit boards on the back of the monitor)? Also, where do you live, maybe someone lives near by and is willing to stop in and help.

Was this machine purchased in Oklahoma by chance ?

There was one for sale local to me I was interested in, but it was gone before I could get a hold of the people, so I was just curious.

(seems like there was another thread somewhere on one of these recently)

Its junk, im such a nice guy ill remove it for free though :p

LMAO, Thanks for the offer ixtlann. I got this from a person in Jersey, and will post some pics of the chassis a.s.a.p. I would love to get it working, but I am fairly new to the arcade cabinets at home thing and could use the help. Seems like console repairs are for babies compared to cabinets, but I am willing to try anything. I also have a PlayChoice 10 and am always looking to add to my pcb, and sign collection. Anything Nintendo brightens my garage!

Ah, cool.... just thought it was odd two of these popped up on the forums shortly after one was for sale (and now gone) near me.

Anyways, if you get a pic or any identifying information on the "monitor" model I'm sure we can be of some help. Not numbers off the back of the "tube", the electronics chassis itself is what we need.

Good ol' Wells Gardner K7000. (25K7193)

Is the fuse blown?

Put a cap kit in it and check for bad/cracked solder joints and traces, especially around header pins and large resistors.

Check the flyback for cracks or small burn holes.

Measure the voltage between ground (any heatsink) and both ends of the LARGE resistor hanging off the side. (roughly 130 volts DC, so set your meter correctly)
