Nintendo Super System doesn't display game play (video included)

I recently picked up a non working Nintendo Super System cabinet. The game menu screen displays as normal, but the screen turns black once a game is chosen. In case this doesn't make sense, I took a video of this happening for you guys to see.

If anyone has any idea what could be wrong with this, I would greatly appreciate your help!

Thanks!

For your first machine. It's definately something not too many people have..

Yeah, I know it's kinda rare and not all that desirable either.

I'm a Nintendo Collector who isn't really interested in most arcades. The only ones I want are this one and a Playchoice 10.

Have you pulled the PCB out and given it a good looking over and cleaning? I'm not a super technician, but any time a game starts having issues pulling the board and making sure everything is kosher and seated correctly is a must. I'd clean that thing up and see if you can see any signs of death on the board - gnarly capacitors, burns, anything that doesn't look right on a board. Make sure everything is seated correctly.

What we do know:

The board will boot, you can coin it up and it will show a menu. That's a good start.

I'm sure someone on here will have a better idea for you, but we'll have to wait for that person to see this.

BTW - Welcome, I'm a Nin-collector myself - Arcades and console stuffs. My first Nin-cab was a Vs. Castlevania. I now have a Playchoice-10 and Punch-Out. I'm working on a DK, DKjr, and I'm trying to piece together a Radar Scope cab.
