So, i have been burning chips for the VS system, and had a fellow KLOVr Pm me about chips for their Super System cart.

So i have the information on the 3 chips on his cart:
(NSS-R IC2) PRG ROM-1
TOSHIBA
TC574000D-150
JAPAN 9150EAK
VPP 12.5V

(NSS-R IC3) PRG ROM-0
TOSHIBA
TC574000D-150
JAPAN 9143EAK
VPP 12.5V

Markings for the single 28-pin rom (NSS-R IC8) INST ROM:
TMS (Texas Instruments logo)
27C256JL
LDE 8901

So, my question is... The rom contains 2 512k files for the program. When i looked up that chip i think it came up as a 4meg chip. That can't be right?! Can it?

The chips are 4 meg chips, and a 512 chip. No idea why they would use such a big chip for 512 worth of data.

Found my answers. Thanks!

It is definitely do-able. It was a while ago, but i think the only thing that wasn't changed with the rom swap was the name at the menu screen.

Also, you need to make sure the card is the same as the game you want to put on there.

Yeah, the security chip and instruction EPROM define what shows at the menu, but you can swap game EPROMs... as long as it's compatible with that cartridge.
