I've never been a fan of Reggie and cringe every time I see him take the stage. The dude only got his gig due to his marketing experience at Pizza Hut, Panda Express and VH1. It makes you wonder if he actually plays video games. He just seems fake to me.
Satoru Iwata can barely speak English and he's more convincing and charismatic than Reggie who clearly reads off the teleprompter. Though, he must be good at what he does as Nintendo seems to always be successful in marketing and timing of their products. Or he just does what the Japanese big wigs tell him to do.
Anyone ever meet the guy?

I have an original GBA (import - with Afterburner front light mod), GBA SP (import - black), GBA SP (for parts - front light was used to mod a NGPC), GBA Micro, GBA Micro (the wife's).
So yeah, I obviously loved that system

So far I have the NES limited edition one (my absolute favorite one) and the cobalt blue one. I want to find the NES version NIB,but it'll probably cost more than I can afford right now.
I just watched the whole presentation. I can't wait. I'll pay $350 no problem. The new games will be fantastic.

Classic NES GBA SP was definitely the coolest looking one, though it didn't have the improved backlit screen, correct?
My favorite GBA system that I have is the Famicom GB Micro. The metallic red and gold is awesome.

Yep,you're correct. And wouldn't it be cooler if the new nintendo controller implemented the GBA SP design with flip up screen instead of what they presented today? I could surf with that controller they show.

I don't know if this has been discussed, but do you think that the "casual gamer" looks at the new controller and says, "Wow, that looks complicated"?
I mean, I'm not talking about the "occasional gamer" who buys a new system and only a few games, and doesn't play very often.
One thing Nintendo did well with the Wii is sell that console to pretty much anyone and everyone. A lot of people bought it just for the sports pack, and never bought another game for it. My mother in law's best friend who is almost 70 bought one, and had never owned a game console in her life. and of course you hear those stories of senior citizen centers and nursing homes buying these for their residents. I'm just not sure if this one is going to have that same kind of appeal to those buyers.
Even if it doesn't appeal to those buyers, does that have any impact at all on sales?

Anyone else noticed that you can only have one of those new controllers per system? They are downplaying that.
Yeah - and that's probably a good thing considering what the cost will likely be. It looks like the wiimote continues to be the controller of choice.
Yeah, that's the thing people don't realize is that the Wii U still utilizes all existing Wii peripherals and controllers. The Wii U controller is just an added feature that will be utilized in some way shape or form depending on the game. I can imagine buying an extra Wii U controller would probably be $100+ which is not practical.
I saw casual mention that the screen on that thing will be 3D like the 3DS so I guess the tech on that is getting cheaper all the time.
3D touch screen. That's jacked up.

That and the system would have to generate graphics for each screen which would put strain on the system to have more than one. Also it has to send the video wirelessly.
I hope not, that 3D screen makes me nauseated.
