Hi everybody,
I'm new here. I read through the great monitor guide in the monitor
section, and I was able to fix a Bomb Jack and Scramble that I bought
in a local deal a while ago. In the same deal I got a Space Firebird
cocktail also. The power supply was no good, so I bought a 100v
one from a Red Tent to run the monitor and hooked up a computer supply
to run the boards. Then the monitor wouldn't work, but I could hear
it playing, so I found some cracked traces on the chassis and fixed them.
Now the monitor seems to work, but all I get on the screen are a few
lit pixels, randomly drawn across the screen. They are fixed, they do not move.
Nothing moves, even when the game is playing. I do get a 'flash' once in a while
when it sounds like the ship blows up. I don't think the problem is with the
monitor, I hooked up a commodore 1084 to the boards, and I get the exact
same screen with it.
Where should I start looking? I reseated all the socketed chips, and reseated the
cables and connectors also. Voltages look good.
Thanks,
Brian
