Over the weekend I picked up a pair of converted Nintendo tables. The unfortunate part is that both of them have been converted. This thread is gonna be for the Space Firebird, I'll do something else for the DK.
This thing was filthy. It has a healthy nicotine coating and was converted to Mr Do's Castle. It wasn't the worst conversion I've ever seen, but they did some things to it that will require me to get creative. For example, because they mounted wico joysticks on the control panels, they made the holes bigger and cut off the mounting lugs for the original joysticks. So I feel like I am going to have to get creative and make a new mount for the joystick that way the orginal panel can be saved. I'll need to source new overlays due to the bigger holes though.
One thing I noticed inside was some delicous cat food though.
While starting the cleaning, I also 3d made myself a new coin bucket since this one was missing it's bucket. Turned out alright.
So where am I at now? Well, I started cleaning it out. I've washed and recapped the monitor so far so we will see how that looks when I get around to calibration. I also got my Space Demon boardset working, so we are good there. I'll post updates as I get them. I've started putting together a harness, I am itching to get the game running.
That said, if you happen to have control panel overlays for Space Firebird or Space Demon let me know.
