nintendo sanyo monitor question

alrighty:
c408 on this sanyo ez 20 monitor i have has the + leg from c408 jumpered to the solder pad that is directly above it (on the underside of the chassi). the solder pad is actually on the - trace thow. on the parts side of the chassis, that solder pad does not even have a component there. i think what may have happend is that the + leg of the cap was too long and it bent over against the pad, appearing as thow its jumpered.
or, is this how its supposed to be?

Could be that the solder pad for the cap was lifting and they just jumpered it over to the next nearest pad on the same trace to beef it up.
If it is the same trace, I wouldn't worry about it.
 
not on the same trace. that was my concern. it son the NEG trace, not + as i mentioned.
anyhow- i took away the "jumper" and recapped the monitor and all is well.
very odd.

Ah... I misunderstood that it was the + lead of the cap going to the "negative" trace part.

Yeah, I would have just removed it and set things proper the way you did.
