Who needs a Nintendo Row when you have an Atari End?

From L to R clockwise: Race Drivin', Star Wars, Tempest, System II (Championship Sprint/Paperboy), and finally Asteroids (back in it's home in the gameroom side of the garage)...

How many BTU's is it? I'm asking, cause I'm looking for something for my garage at the moment and am wondering about the efficiency of them.

I think it's 15,000 BTU... works decently enough. When it comes to portables, keep in mind that single exhaust models are cheaper but only about 60% as efficient as window/wall models because they take air from the room being cooled, use it to cool the condenser, then pump it outside, which causes negative pressure meaning that hot outside air comes in...less than the cooled air pumping out, but it's something to consider.

The more expensive 2 "hose" models that have two "drier type tubes" coming from it work as efficient as wall/window models...it's because one tube is an intake and the other is an exhaust eliminating the negative pressure issues of the cheap models.

I have two cheap models...why? Because the good ones are twice as expensive ($500+)...

looks sweet! what kind of floor you got in there? Hard to tell in that light

I got the FREE kind! My neighbor is a carpenter who had recently installed carpet tiles in a restaurant. He had extras and hooked me up for free.

Too bad it's not black light reactive...but whos' gunna bitch for FREE?

what make and model are they?

The one in the picture is an old old old model... I got it about 7 years ago maybe...it's a Daewoo...

I bought a second one for the larger garage from Big-Lots...it's a "BP"... which I'd never heard of, but it was cheap (Under $200 I think it was). It works, but not quite as good as the Daewoo model, hence the reason that one is in the game room.

I'd highly suggest you visit your local Home Depot and/or Lowes to check out the different models. The 2-hose models are NICE...but expensive.

De'Longhi are considered decent brands for portable AC's...

Try Big Lots...

EDIT: BTW - I just checked and my Daewoo is a 9,500 BTU model and the other is a 10,000 BTU model...I was incorrect in my prior response...

FYI, similar models in the late 90s went for $1000+. They have actually come down alot...

I'm not complaining, but Frizz mentioned his is a 12,000 BTU (?), and it's decent enough, but he's only cooling 1 part of a garage. I would have to cool an entire 2 car garage so I'm worried about efficiency.

EDIT: I just saw Frizz' EDIT, so I feel a little better now. I may go check these out...

You're going to want a 15,000 BTU for the entire garage... especially if it's not insulated. Have you considered a window/wall mounted AC?

Also, keep in mind you will need to come up with a way to vent a portable AC. Some go out a window... I ducted in to my attic...
