Nintendo Row owners.. would you add this game

Castlevania isn't my cup of tea but I know alot of people like the genre. The Angry Video Game Nerd did a funny review of the Castlevania series, it definitely peaked my interest. If thats the kind of game you like, buy it for yourself, not because other people want it. I would be more concerned with the condition of the cabinet. There is something going on with the bottom left side of the cabinet, and it appears that the right side is missing tmolding and/or is stripped to the wood on the right side.

I agree. It's basically a Vs. Unisystem in a crappy cabinet. As far as the game, I don't think there's much difference from the NES version. If it goes by Vs. standards where it's harder, then it's probably almost impossible to beat. That last level with the crazy jumping monkeys is freaking crazy. Screw random barrels and fireballs, look out for crazed jumping monkeys!

I don't think I ever got past the Grim Reaper on the NES version.

I'm not really into the gray dedicated Vs. cabs so much but as far as the game itself, Hell yeah I'd add it to my row. I've been looking for a working Castlevania boardset and marquee for a while now.

If it steps up the difficulty from the NES version then it's basically impossible. It's one of the first games I ever owned, and also one of the few games I owned that I could not finish. Dracula is ridiculously hard, and it wasn't until I emulated it and I cheated (saved when I was doing good, and would restore from that place in the fight.) that I actually finished it. I remember playing it for hours and thinking I had finally defeated dracula, only to have him change form and get all his health back. Almost as hard as the final boss in NES Ninja Gaiden...

He is hard !! I usually get the cross and start throwing it like crazy and kill him before he kills me .

I wouldn't mind playing it again now to see if I could beat it, but back when the NES first came out, it was too brutally hard for me to beat.

That and Rush'n Attack were the first two games we got for the NES. Konami used to put out some gems.

"It was colonel mustard in the library with the candlestick!"

Is that even a Nintendo cabinet? I don't recall ever seeing that style with Nintendo.

Yessir. Thats the dedicated Vs cabinet. All the others were DK/DK Jr conversions.
