What is a reasonable price for a working nintendo red tent?
I may be able to buy one but not sure what is a reasonable price?

Thanks,
Chris

There's a working one in WV that someone's trying to sell for $300 and has no takers, presumably because it's in WV. Frankly, at $300 I'd have bought it by now, except that it's a freaking 6 hour drive for me to get it.

I'd certainly think that $350 or thereabouts is a reasonable price for a working system with the games in it. If it's in particularly good condition, or the monitors have no burn, then a bit more would be warranted.

If it's in decent working condition, $300-350 ($250-300 w/o PCB).

I paid $450 shipped for mine but it came complete and in great shape with a populated PCB and all original joysticks and buttons. The buttons are known to be damaged or missing on these and it's very hard to find original replacements.

yeah, location is everything...

they have been more popular lately, it seems, so that of course can drive the price up.

I would say if it's working, and has a good set of games $250 would be low and $350 would be high... anywhere in between is green zone

I LOVE my red tent! The only drawback for me is that it takes up so much room!

I agree with the rest here- $250-$350 in decent shape with decent games.

Timing is everything, apparently. Just a few years ago you couldn't give these red tents away, and they were the bane of classic collectors everywhere. If you bought out a warehouse or storage unit and had to take some of these along with the deal, you knew you were gonna be stuck with them, only good for swiping Nintendo joysticks and buttons - as the monitors weren't even really useful in another Nintendo game.

I had one for so long I swore I was gonna make a BBQ pit out of it.

Guess it's a good thing they're enjoying some late-found collectible status now, though I have to admit I don't quite understand why. :D

I think it's the unique form-factor and the fact that it can (in theory) sit 4 players at once, and that the games are (relatively) easy to swap. I know that's what's piqued my interest. Especially since there are one or two games that play on both monitors at once!
