Here are a set of images of a restore that I have been working on. Turned a nasty Red Tent Vs system to a Playchoice 10. Soon enough to be wired both sides with PC10 boards, but for now it is a VS/PC10 cab. Left the Vs wiring fully intact so a few clicks of the wiring harness would convert it back. I did not mess with bondo and pulling the dents out. Maybe next time I will give that a try. Made a box to mimic the metal box under the tent. It holds 2 pc10 motherboards and has a front door. The paint is Rust-Oleum metallic cobalt blue. Kinda changes to a darkish purple in the correct light. (I liked that other blue tent that come up a while ago and tried a different color other than red). Rust-Oleum hammered black and Rust-Oleum hammered silver. I have use the hammered for several other metal projects before, but if I had to do this one over again I would use the plain Rust-Oleum auto black. Maybe I am just tired of that look, but it seems the smooth finish looks better for the base. Every piece of was taken apart, sanded, primed, and painted. The only reason I painted the legs is because of pitting in the chrome.

Things added:
-2 wiring harness. 3 in total: 1 Vs wiring untouched, 1 Vs changed to PC10 single pinout, 1 duel PC10 harness to come if boards work. Otherwise I will put in another Vs harness changed to a PC10 pinout.

-Full recap and rebuild of 2 monitors and 2 power supplies.

-Took apart all the buttons and joysticks for cleaning and oiling.

-Coin slots wired to give credit and to be a reset for the Playchoice.

-New box to hold 2 Playchoice PCBs.

-New PCB holder on the 2nd side to hold a Vs motherboard or extra PC10 motherboard.

-New guides on the PCB motherboard 1st side.

-2nd power supply for 2nd PCB.

-2nd Iso added so I can only turn one monitor on and one power supply on. This saves the 2nd monitor from burn and saves energy. It also gives me the choice to have both sides if another person wants to play the other side.

-Wheels

-New instruction sheets. Will change this up now that I know the proper color order of the buttons.

-New plex for the instruction sheets.

-New board around the monitors. Made from black core matt board. Worked perfect and would suggest doing if you need to change or replace a warped old one.

-Lots of new bolts, screws, and of course many coats of rust proof primer and paint.

Things to go: Find or make doors for the coin and service holes. Need one coin flap for the return. Would like to find new monitors without so much burn. Need locks to keep hands out. I have 3 of the older types but no keys.

Anyone that might have a really good deal on the 2 coin doors and 1 service door I would be interested in them. Otherwise they will end up wooden.

Enjoy the images.

wow that's awesome

if you decide to sell I'd be honored to be the first to lowball the shit out of you. :)

I must say you did a splendid job :) I am looking to restore my Red Tent (although I love the blue, I think im going to keep mine red... wife hates blue) and this just shows me how much nicer the inside and outside will look if i do it properly and take everything out and repaint it.

I am a bit jealous of a few of your PC10 games :)

Great job! The blue is pretty sweet! These cabs are so easy to take apart, clean and repaint that the restore can be done in a weeks time. At least for me it was.

It looks really nice. I know people on here like to keep everything as original as possible and will grief people who are making it nice and not striping away the possibility of returning it to original.

That being said I want to get rid of the two beasts that I have at my house; (don't ask to buy them I am keeping them for a friend). They take up about 3 video games worth of space, (two if you line up you have machines in a back to back middle row configuration); to have them PC 10 would be a different story though.

These are for pemdawg. Sorry for the quality. Just some cell phone pictures. This is showing the wiring for the reset switch from the Coin return. The wiring is from a Vs harness. Notice that it requires cutting all of the second side wires. Off memory these are the voltage for the timer, but don't quote me on that. The new wires are the red and black on the end. A simple N.O. push button is all that is needed.
