My summer last year, I obtained a Nintendo Red Tent in working condition, but had the typical burn in left over from years of play.........or it being stuck on free play. Of course I had many ideas to get it restored, new CPs, powder coat the paint finish, and possibly get some more games to play. BUT my biggest niche is the dam burn in, it's just not worth having older CRTs for this if I can't have a nice game of mario bros without a big TENNIS logo in the middle. So I was thinking for the future I might find a suitable replacement monitor, such as a LCD. Only thing I would need to do is make amplifier for the audio portion that was originally together with the older monitor, and of course a video converter for those inverted nintendo board colors.

Has anyone ever attempted a conversion for the monitors before? Such as another CRT or LCD? I thought something like that would come up easily in a search, but I don't see anything about someone finding new monitors.......of course since the tube itself is super rare because of its abnormal size and shape.

Should be easy to get a replacement monitor. Since they're small it would be easier to ship. I have access to 4 complete red tents but I haven't picked them up yet and I think there's a couple extra monitors laying around. I'll check when I'm back there in a couple weeks if you still need one.

those monitors are getting pretty rare and hard to find without screen burn.
If you get them up and running with LCDs, please let us know the details, etc.

I have a red tent that is going to get restified...
It is going to get powder coated Candy Apple Red.... It just screams it.
