Nintendo Red Tent - one side keeps freezing up

Yeah i could use a couple extra CPUs but i will wait on you to tell me they work.

How much was the shipping?

I'm pretty confident that you have a power supply issue. I had the same issue with my Vs Hogan's Alley, when I first got it. Your issue occurs when the game "warms up". I too would get the white or green screen. You'd have to wait about 20 minutes to a 1/2 hour for it to cool down and reset itself.

If it was the PPU, it would only show white or green, constantly. You would never make it to the title screen. This comes from my humble Nintendo experience, over the last 5 years. Good luck with any repairs and keep us informed. +1 on the Red Tent!

I'm pretty convinced it's a CPU issue. Whatever board I pop that good CPU into works. Unfortunately, since I only have one at the moment I can only play a single side, but with the exception of one board it's worked every time (that exception was because the cap above the 1A slot is cracked in half).

I've played about an hour of Star Luster and 40 minutes or so of Pinball solid on that CPU and had no other issues. I'll know definitively once those other CPUs arrive and will update the thread.

That is good to hear. Somehow, I missed that in the thread. Then I digress: It's a CPU issue! :)

That was the ticket! First, got the CPUs today, popped them into my Wrecking Crew board and it fired right up. Second, I'm uber-impressed with ArcadeComponents.com. I ordered it on Thursday and it got here Saturday morning. That's friggin' impressive. They also had it wrapped nicely, in a static-free bag and chips mounted on soft foam.

Thanks again Slots for letting me know about them. They're bookmarked now. For everyone else, if you're looking for Vs CPU chips (and for only $8.99 a piece) these can't be beat.
