This is a nearly complete Nintendo red tent that is ready for you to take across the finish line. I've had this cabinet for years, which started as a MAME cabinet while I spent several years tracking down all the parts I needed to convert it back to stock. I've finally got all the parts installed, there is just a bit more work to complete before it's 100% ready.

The body was fairly scratched and dinged up when I got it. I primed and re-painted using Rustoleum red and black. Legs are unaltered chrome, which show a bit of wear. Cash boxes are present.

It has the original smoke/tinted plexiglass and clear glass pains for the monitor areas.

I had a couple of new clear plexiglass panels created for the instruction card areas.

Buttons, joysticks, and control panels are all stock.

Wiring harnesses are original and have not been hacked up.

PCB was sourced from ebay and is working. Only one side is populated (Super Mario Bros. VS).

Has original transformer and power supply. I also have a spare power supply.

One side is working completely; Super Mario Bros and looks, plays, and sounds great (including 2 players). This Sanyo 18-Z2AB shows a minor amount of burn in from a previous life of running Castlevania, but it's not visible when the screen is on.

The second side has a Sharp XM-1801N screen, which is currently not working. When switched on you can see a red dot in the middle of the screen, but nothing else. I have a cap kit but I never got around to installing it. I'm not sure if the cap kit will fix it, or more adjustments will be needed. The second side speaker will also need a new molex connector in order to connect to the harness.

My interests have shifted to pinball, so my interest in re-capping the second monitor has faded. I'm ready to pass this on to another enthusiast.

Original parts:
  • Joysticks / buttons / control panels
  • Tinted plexiglass and glass panes for screens
  • Cash boxes
  • Wiring harnesses
  • PCB
  • Power Supply
  • Transformer
  • CRT: Sanyo 18-Z2AB
  • CRT: Sharp XM-1801N (not working)
  • Speakers
  • Coin mechs
Non-original:
  • Re-painted with Rustoleum
  • Plexiglass instruction card covers
  • Extra long power cord
Extras:
  • 4 new keys
  • Power Supply
  • Clear plexiglass for monitors (if you don't like the o.g. tintned ones)
  • Sharp XM-1801N cap kit from arcadepartsandrepair.com
Remaining work:
  • CRT Repair: Sharp XM-1801N
  • Molex connector for 1 speaker
  • Source ROMs and PPU for side 2
For pick up in northern California (Butte County). $1700. $1200

Status update: Sold/Traded

Bump! Somebody must need a Red Tent :)
THE RED TENT!!!
I would probably jump on that if I had the room and a soare 1200 bucks. 😁
I would put Vs. Tennis on both sides, though. That is how it was originally shipped. Maybe RBI Baseball on both sides would be fun. You have to watch out though there are two versions of Vs RBI Baseball out there. One is a little bit better than the other, with better graphics and playability. Pretty sure you can play 4 player RBI Baseball if you have it dialed in right.
Not sure if you could play 4 player RBI on the red tent though. I think the other baseball game was VS. Baseball or something, worse graphics and gameplay.
Vs. 4 player Tennis is a blast though.
👍
For the record Bases Loaded and Tengens RBI Baseball were the best baseball games on the NES, Baseball Stars was probably third on that list.
🤣
But if you have a RED TENT , VS. TENNIS is Mandatory and pretty much the defacto.
😁
If you have a RED TENT and you don't have VS. Tennis, you probably shouldn't own a RED TENT.
🤣
My Company Captains Quarters Furniture,
an upstart company dealing in Reproduction 1800's Recliners has become more costly than originally thought.
I suspect the "Billy Idol" Repop will be a big hit though
;)

I am south of you about 5 hours away in the land of oil and cow farts. I would love to have that beast... I just hate driving....

I've got a PCB with RBI Baseball on both sides (one of the videos you posted was mine, so I wanted to comment) and its super fun :)

Its not 4 player compatible unfortunately. Would be rad if you could somehow do that, but there aren't two versions of Vs. RBI. The Vs. version is different from the NES (or Playchoice) version.
