Nintendo Red paint code here!

I haven't done my touch up painting yet, but I will.
I just got in some parts I needed for the PC, so I wan't to start that this week.
I also need to re-do my control panel, not happy with the outcome.

My turn. This will take all weekend at least, as my cab has a botched up blue paint job from the previous owner. So I'm having to strip paint as well as sanding, all while trying to salvage the nice side art already on the game. Trying a foam roller this time but may go to standard as I see some flaws thru the paint already, only 2 coats in on one side though. Well see how it goes.

Here it is after 3 coats, pretty much a full quart. There are imperfections in the cabinet and, even though I sanded it smooth, it still shows a little. Think I should get another quart and a standard roller? Or just leave it alone? It's had a couple days to dry but it's also very humid in my basement right now as we just got 3 inches of rain here in MO.

I'm not sure what the DK blue code would be, game stencil's doesnt have it listed. Acually they don't have the red either, guess I should give them the code so they can list it. If you have the blue sides on the inside where the CP mounts, you can cut a piece from that and get it color matched. Thats what I did for DK Jr.

Heres the finished product. Not perfect but good enough for me.

I feel I should mention this before it gets out of hand, and 5 years from now we'll have a bunch of users who painted with these codes.

The CPO is NOT the correct place to obtain the DK Red.

A few minutes of searching will bring up many instances of actual paint matching to the interior control side panels or unexposed coin door jambs, and many close code matches generated from those proper templates.

I've searched the hell out of this before this thread and never found anything. If he used the CPO his must have been darker than mine, if you look at the photos I posted you can see the difference. In your opinion, how far off is this from the real thing? Either way I'm not going back, Ill stay with this. But I am curious.

I used the CPO is it perfect? Probably not. But when comparing to photos I've seen of red ninty cabs, it looks pretty close. I was never able to find a Red code regardless before either, so I color matched and posted. I said where it's from and left it up to you all to try. I think it looks great. Also, the issue with everyone painting red, most people aren't painting a real red cab anyway. Mine was blue, so it's not real anyway, so even with an exactly perfect color code it's still a fake and I would never try to pass it off as a real radar scope cab.
