Hey, I have a few Nintendo button colors and am looking for other sample colors. I believe this is the complete list of colors... green, black, red, orange, blue, crimson, purple, yellow and Lt blue. Are their any other colors? And what games did they come on?

Best,
- Mike -

Hey, I have a few Nintendo button colors and am looking for other sample colors. I believe these are the most popular, green, black, red, orange and blue. Any other popular colors? And what games did they come on?

FYI - the orange button in your first photo is a punch out button, not used on the DK. Look at the position of the e-clip on the bottom, positioned 2mm higher on the shaft than the other buttons. This causes the button to sit lower.

But you already know this :)

Boy Mike, if you succeed in getting the original Nintendo buttons reproed. you'd hit a gold mine. Are you seeing how much people are paying for decent NOS buttons? If you blink on an NOS for sale thread, you miss the purchase - they're gone that fast!

I know, i'm looking at them again. Actually, I just put them on the back burner. I have wanted to do them for many years. Getting closer!

Hmm, that blue looks WAY light in the first picture, si that really a Nintendo button? I'd like to see the treads on it fully.

The 2nd picture are the two blues I have, The first is a DK button, the 2nd is from my Red Tent.

3rd picture is of the remaining colors I have.

I think that's just flash making the button look lighter blue than usual. The light blue buttons were also used on Vs. Unisystem and R-Type.

Here's a pic (this is the lighter blue below). I think I have NOS or very nice light blue button I can take a picture of.

FYI, I think the one in your pic looks darker than the light blue ones I have.

Hey Mike,

If you need reference original Nintendo blue and orange buttons for DK, DKJr., MB, and Popeye; I can send you one of each. They are in really great condition.

Although, the one blue one you have there looks correct color match to mine (dark/navy blue), just do the same in orange and you'll be "bang on"

As side note, did you notice how the bottom "nub" (below the c-clamp) on the yellow and purple buttons is slightly shorter than the nub on the Magenta and Lt. Blue button? You see the same the difference on the DK buttons versus the Playchoice, etc. I think someone documented the differing lengths somewhere on this forum.

Thanks, i've got them covered, but I really appreciate your offer.

Yes, Rev 1 buttons came on wood control panels, the e-clip was lower. They broke easily, rev 2 "fixed" that by moving the e-clip up about the width of the eclip. ;)

The yellow and purple buttons are just worn. The red tent uses rollers on the end of the microswitches for the four select buttons off to the right of the panel. Over time, it wore the ends on those two buttons down. One of the lt blue on my red tent is completly missing the center, probably wore that nub completly off.

The lt blue in the pic came off a vs-pacman kit panel as p1 start. And the magenta as an action button from my red tent. Both of these use a lever instead of a roller on the micro switch, so they don't seem to wear as much.

Yes, your looks right. Same as mine. It is hard to get a good photo of them.
