I need to replace a few parts in my Nintendo cabinet (top, coin box shelf

the plywood looks to be 9/16" but I don't see anyone that sells that?

Alos my bottom is wasted and those pieces are 13/16 wide so it seems and 3.5" tall

not a 1 X 3 or 1 X 4

I'm sure someone knows where I need to buy this stuff

I have a complete coin box and shelf from a DKJR if you are interested.
It is a little wider than the ones in DK,since it came from a particle cab,but you just need to cut a bit off each end and it will fit.
$20 + Shipping and it's yours.
Pm me if you want it.

I still have mine -- I'd like to make a new one as its not in great shape -- I may end up using it if I can't find the plywood -- the shelf itself is peeling a little not horrible -- just seems like an easy repro -- if I can find the wood if not I'll sand glue it up a little bit

Thanks for the offer though!

Your base IS made from 1 x 4's. Modern 1 x 4's ARE 3.5 inches tall. The bases were originally made from a fine grained hardwood, but since they are painted black anyway I just use pine and add nylon sliders to the bottom. I've made tons of them.

Are you sure? I have some nice 1 X 3's I put next to the original wood pieces and its just a tad slimmer

And in your pics did you mount wheels to the frame? My wheels are mount to the bottom of the cabinet outside of the frame in the back

I'll take some pics of the pieces tomorrow

You mean thickness-wise? 1 inch lumber measures an actual 3/4" thick. Believe me, it's close enough. Hopefully your guests won't bring their micrometers with when they stop by.

The first pic is from an R-Type base which had the wheels mounted to it from the factory. The second pic is a Mario Bros Widebody base, which is wider than a DK base but the same height and thickness. I have also constructed 4-5 DK style bases, just didn't post a pic of one.

I just used 2' x 4's on the two DK cabinets I restored. (Of course that is actually 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" pieces).

I guess I just assumed with all the DK restores, repro cabinets etc going on everywhere someone would have sourced the original stuff by now. If everyone is just getting whats close I can do that -- I just figured I throw the question out there

I didn't think this was going to be a hard question -- Its appears it really is ;>

If you really want 9/16", find someone with a decent home woodworking setup and a planer (wish I had one). Get them to plane some 3/4" thick solid wood down. Won't be plywood, but dims will be same. While I'm all for original look/style/construction, but the way those bases were constructed wasn't tough enough, in my opinion. If doing the mitered corners, I'd use blocking or if you want it to look the same, biscuits, with the glue. I need to remake a couple of bases myself one day, but isn't high on the priority list.
