Hello all, have a few questions and would appreciate some info.
I recently purchased a counter top game from a Warehouse I visited as my wife saw it and wanted it.
I asked a few buddies off here what it might be and i was told its a Nintendo Playchoice Counter top.
It has been converted to some kind of gambling game, but not sure what one as the boards missing.
My questions are would it be worth restoring/tracking down parts or should i make it the 60n1 my wife was thinking about.
If i did restore it, is it a sought after game? Worth a fair amount? Or not really worth it.
I appreciate any input.
Thank You

I've seen Playchoice Counter tops average in the ~$500 range and given what you have my guess is it would cost a few hundred easy to restore it (assuming you pick cheap and common games). So if you were thinking about restoring and flipping for big money then I wouldn't, but if you really enjoyed the NES and are good with this selection of games here:

(minus the gun games, the gun doesn't work for the counter top model) then it could be a fun project.

Hi! Thank you for the reply. I was more so wondering what it was worth to see if it was worth putting the money into it to make it complete again. I have no wish to sell it and think its actually kinda neat. I will have to do some more looking into this, I really appreciate the information and that link!
Thanks!
Ken

I think you find it difficult to track down a complete control panel. One just sold on ebay for around $120.00 that was not complete.

I like my countertop and play it almost everyday.

What a bummer! Maybe i will just work on fixing it up for my wife and throw in the 60n1 board she wanted. She kinda had her heart set on that. Best to not disappoint her she has been really good about my arcade addiction LOL

Thanks everyone for the input! Wish it wasnt all hacked up.

Maybe just do the 60-1 for now while you track down the parts. :)

HEY! Now thats a great idea!! She can enjoy it as it is for now and then i can pick up the pieces as i can! Didnt even think about that!
I think a little Playchoice machine would be amazing to have.
Thanks for that input!!

Yeah it would be really hard to restore one of these. They're awesome little machines, but all the cool stuff is missing out of yours, go ahead and multi that baby.

Make this one into a 60-in-1, then keep a lookout for an unmolested countertop.

They are pretty neat - I owned one once - but they are not terribly uncommon. There's quite a few out there; you'll nab one with some patience.

Now that I know they are out there, I will be keeping a better eye out there for one. I have seen those little cabs before in places but thought they were all just tabletop gambling games. LOL
My wife spotted this in a warehouse we were at last weekend and just had to have it. I figured for $40 bux I really couldnt go wrong. And besides she let me come home with 3 new games for myself. LOL

Anyone know if there is a trackball out there small enough for this little guy? If im going to 60n1 it for my lady, would be nice to have both a joystick and a trackball to really utilize the games.

Thanks to everyone for their input! love this place! :)
