Probably. I seem to remember a thread where a member hotwired in a NES zapper to his.

I've hotwired all sorts of gamepads including nes ans snes to arcade controls.

ok, i was thinking of doing this because i have a empty vs cab and i have a lot of the nes games. some good ones. i have eveything to do this, just wondering if it was practical.. ill post the results.
thanks for the response!!!!

Yeah....

You basically have two options:

1. Hack a controller. Solder directly to the non grounded button pads.

OR:

2. Build a controller PCB and wire it up. The 4021 is a stock part.

The hardest part of your project is actually going to be the video.

ok, so i can not just disconect the wires and wire them directly to the vs control.im wondering because the wire colors are the same. im going to try it.. im using an old crt tv for the monitor. ive heard it can be a pain to hook it to a arcade monitor.
