Nintendo Monitor pulsates could this have to do with wedges?

I recapped the monitor and tried it out and it has a pulsating effect. Its kinda like it shaking but more like in and out than side to side. I was wondering if those rubber wedges around the yoke might have anything to do with it as some of mine were loose. I pushed them back in a little tell they seemed tight.

So do you think it has something to do with the wedges or should I try replacing the pots on the monitor?

No, the rubber wedges just align the yoke. Loose wedges would allow the yoke to move slightly, or be off center, and would only result in a crooked picture, or possibly screwing with the convergence.

When you recapped the monitor, did you set the B+? It needs to be 108v, or as close as possible - if it's too low, the picture will shake and shudder. Another thing that can cause an unstable picture is the filter cap in the monitor, which usually isn't changed in a cap kit.

No I didn't set the B+. I know where to adjust it. Where is the test point on a Nintendo EZ monitor?

The leg of that huge 20 watt resistor (leg closest to the tube) by the B+ pot is good (and easy to get to).

I personally use alligator clips, which I know sounds like major captain obvious stuff, but nobody ever mentions that really. half the people on here go by assumption...

throw a clip on BJ, as noted, hook your red probe of the meter into that. then hook another clip to the metal frame, that's grounded, hook the black probe of the meter into that.

then try not to kill yourself adjusting those shit ass B+ pots those came with.

if you still have wave issues, there's a possibility that your filter cap needs replacement, and if that doesn't get it, there's another voltage regulator IC that you can change out.
