Just thought I would share my recent experience with Nintendo concerning the repair of my daughters DSi.
My daughters DSi had no display on either screen but you could here it boot up and respond to the touch. We bought it last year at Thanksgiving so my immediate response was, "I guess we will be paying for this since these damn things only have a 90 day warranty". So I surf the net to Nintendo's site and find that there is a 12 month warranty from the purchase date. I was not expecting that so I was pleasantly surprised. After the repairs are completed you get an additional 12 months warranty on the unit. Again pleasantly surprised.
The bottom screen had a scratch on it and I requested that it be fixed as well. I was prepared to pay for this as I knew my daughter had damaged it and figured it would not be covered either. So I sent the unit out with a prepaid FedEx label provided by Nintendo on a Friday and 2 weeks later had the unit back with everything working and they replaced the bottom screen at no charge. Awesome!!
I have purchased every Nintendo home console ever made and have never had issues with them or any of the handheld systems until now. I personally associate Nintendo with quality and will continue to purchase their products with confidence.
